MH will be laid off on November 15th (possibly December 15th if there are a lot of loose ends to tie up). The parent company is closing down MH's business unit due to the crap economy. He will get 3 months worth of severance, which is nice and will last us until the babies are born.
I am surprisingly not worried at all. I encouraged him to take his time finding the right job (preferably in SD county), because with unemployment and no daycare bill (Mr. Mom!) we will be OK for awhile. Of course, if he lands something sooner, that's great, too.
Man, things can never be "easy", can they?
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

Re: it's official
No, no they can't. And just when you think things are going great, something else hits you.
I'm so sorry Kim. I'm glad you aren't worried about it, though it has to be stressful. It sounds like you guys will be alright and have a good plan in place. To look on the bright side, it will be really nice that both of you will be able to have lots of time with the girls when they get here. Hopefully he'll find something awesome soon!
Thanks guys. I am a firm believer that when one door closes, another one opens. When my job in Idaho was restructured (unfavorably) I ended up with an awesome job in So Cal with infertility benefits right when we needed 'em. Crazy how things work out.
And honestly, him commuting from Carlsbad to Irvine every day was not ideal, and certainly wouldn't be when the babies are here. So I am trying to look at this as a blessing in disguise.

You're also going to save a lot on gas!
No they never are easy I'm sorry to say and I'm sorry this is happening.
During hard times I always hold on to the thought that everything happens for a reason even if that reason may not be clear to us at the time.
My hope is that in time you will be able to look back and be able to see how this ended up working out for the better for your family.
I will be thinking of your family and hoping that a better opportunity comes up for you all.
I am so sorry he is getting laid off. Although I am sure it's not ideal, it sounds like there are some good things. Think of the gas money, tire wear etc you'll be saving. And yes...Mr. Mom will be great. 2 girls in daycare can't be cheap.
Still...I hope he finds something soon. GL!
Mr. Mom, love it.
Without every meeting either one of you (in person that is), it's very apparent you two have a very strong support system. I wish you the best of luck, and I too truly believe things happen for a reason. At the end of the day, being able to spend more time w/the girls than traffic wins.
*hugs*
It does indeed suck. I'm sorry, but your attitude about it is awesome. And things do happen for a reason. Something better will come for him, and it'll come at the right time.
