Here's a dr and daycare update.
Dr appt -- It went great! We heard the heartbeat on the doppler. Kind of a steady beat (like a horse galloping) and the nurse said she thinks it's a boy.
Dr.C said everything looks good, all my ailments are normal and my weight gain is fine. Next appointment is our 20 week u/s!
Daycares -- We visited 5 today. Only 1 immediately got vetoed and that's because we just waltzed right in the front door and literally had to go find someone down a long hallway. Anybody could just walk in there. The other 4 weren't bad. There were pros and cons of each. We have 3 more to visit sometime in the next week (hopefully) and then we'll move on to researching in-home care.
All in all, a good and productive day. ![]()

So exciting about the Dr's appt! Glad everything is going so well, I'm so excited for you guys!
There are definitely going to be pros and cons to every day care but it sounds like y'all are not taking the decision lightly and that is so important. Home day care might be a good option, kind of like a nanny but with the social aspect of having the other children as well. Home day cares back home at least were required to be licensed with the state. I'm not sure how that works here though.
Thanks! We're definitely not taking it lightly at all. It is such a huge decision! I think social interaction is so important for babies so even if we do either find someone to come to us or find somewhere to bring him, we would look to move to a more socialized daycare around age 2.
I don't think all home daycares are required to be licensed but I could be wrong. Do you know where I would find a list of state licensed in-home daycares?
Yay for good doctor appointments! I am glad everything is going well!
Daycare searches are no fun.
I have my first "real" appointment on Thursday, and I am so excited!
