ladies, we have a date set...
..... for october 27th!
if i go into active labor on my own before then, my dr. said he wouldn't do anything to stop labor at this point.
however, if i make it to the end of october with no signs, i will have a scheduled c-section on 10/27.
this is starting to seem real.

i already have both of these in preemie sizes.
aww, Elise had that same black cat one!
my plan is that if both babies are head down and i go into active labor on my own before the scheduled date (dilated/water broke/contractions), then i would attempt a vaginal birth.
if either of them is breech, both are breech, or i have no progress (dilation/effacement) before the big date, then i'll have a scheduled c-section.
i don't want to be induced with pitocin if my body has no signs of being ready, and i admit i have worried about having one vaginally and then something happening to where i have to have a rushed c-section with the other one (not descending, cord compression, flipping, etc). i'd choose scheduled over urgent/emergent any day.
With that being said if you were having a single birth and it was an option, would you go with a birth center over a hospital?
i would have to say i would go with a hospital, but not just any - a major one. i'm all about having access to pain relief when you need it, and a hospital with a NICU is a big thing for me (whether i was having 2 or just 1, high risk or not).
if i had a higher tolerance for pain, i would consider a birthing center that was close by a larger hospital, should the need for transfer of me or baby arise.
i worked at a rural community hospital where there was no in-house physicians (OB, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, neonatal, etc), so when it was time to deliver, you had to call/page the OB at home to come to the hospital. same with anesthesia - if you wanted an epidural, the on/call anesthesiologist had to be called/paged from their house. and if a baby was having issues that the well baby nursery couldn't handle, i had to call for woman's to make a transfer, wait for their transport team to get there, stabilize and transport baby, all while mom remained with us. it was sad.
That is so exciting! It will be here before you know it. Get some rest now!
I was really worried about having one vaginally and the other c-section as well. Mine were both breech the whole time so I didn't have a choice, but part of me wishes I could have experienced labor and everything.
Wishing you all the best!
Aw, yay! Congrats and good luck.
My brother's bday is Oct 27!

Congratulations!
I've been wondering if your doctor would set a date. Good luck until then!!
