Gift idea for newborn for a mom who has everything??
Our friend just had their first child yesterday and we are wanting to bring them a gift when we see them tomorrow.
My question is, what do you buy a new mommy/baby who has already bought everything?
For you mommies out there, is there something you wish you got that you didn't think of or really wanted?
TIA

Re: Gift idea for newborn for a mom who has everything??
if you are open to cooking/baking, then I think a good home cooked meal and some baked goods would be greatly appreciated, as they probably have very little time for that right now!
another gift idea would be giving her a "gift certificate" for an evening of babysitting that they can use when the baby is older so they can have a "date night" together... or, if you're feeling generous you could combine this babysitting certficate with a spa certificate so mom can go pamper herself for a half day when she is feeling really worn out

Ditto! You never really know what you'll use/need until baby is here.
This
or this.
A gift card/gift certificate for takeout is another good option.
Spa certificate for a massage?
How do you know she has everything? Is her registry fulfilled? If so, I'd something like this:
Deluxe Baby Keepsake Kit
100 Good Wishes Quilt
Both from RedEnvelope.com
Or maybe a personalized Christmas Tree ornament for Baby's First Christmas.

Well I am a mom who had everything... And the one thing NOT to get is CLOTHES! We have TOO MANY! Or if you get some, make sure you get stuff a year old. Everything we have is 3 months!!!
I must say, my favorite post-birth gifts are stuff with her name on it! But that's just because we didn't decide until right before she was born, so we had nothing with her name on it!
I also love gift cards... But get one where they are registered. We got one for BRU and while I appreciate the thought, there is no BRU near us, so it's going to be difficult to use it. I would have preferred a GC to BBB or Amazon.
A friend brought us homemade lasagna and chocolate-covered pretzyls -- We froze the lasagna and it'll be very helpful - Great gift idea! Or a gift card to a place near them where they can order delivery!
Finally... I think a great gift would be the stickers for babies when they turn One Month, Two Months, etc. I plan to order those and give them to my girlfriend when she delivers! I wish I had thought to give it to her at her shower!
HTH!

I would guess something personalized with the baby's name & birthdate on it or... diapers! That's one thing you know for sure will be used! Haha!
I vote for this - I ALWAYS give new moms I know a casserole or two (and usually some kind of treat like cookies), and they've all thanked me effusively, saying that cooking is the last thing on their mind and it's so nice not to have to worry about it!
In a similar vein to cooking meals for new mums...pay for a housekeeper to come over for a couple of hours?
Otherwise, I second the massage certificate (only if she likes massages...not all people do. Yes they exist lol, my husband and my sister don't like them). Then, offer to babysit while she gets her massage.
I don't like massages either! I'm both EXTREMELY ticklish (everywhere!) and I also seem to have unusually sensitive skin or muscles or something - I've had quite a few massages (I feel like I shouldn't give up on something that everyone else loves lol) and they all hurt. I have to keep asking them to rub so lightly that they're barely touching me! So, I agree...might be worth finding out if she likes them first.
WOW! Thanks ladies for ALL your fab ideas! I knew you all would be so clever
I say she is the mom who has everything because she has bought everything through her pregnancy it seems. But now that I think of it, I think it's more clothes...
She always bakes us stuff when she comes over, so what a great idea for me to return the favor. I will certainly go that route. I also love your idea Malia about the month old stickers, where would you find them or what are they called? I have been actually trying to find them, but don't know what to search for.
Thanks again ladies for all your great ideas!
