Any final advice?

Getting induced tomorrow, and I am excited, anxious, and nervous... and rolled into one.  It didn't hit me until a few minutes ago.  Any words of wisdom to a 1st time Mom-to-be?

Re: Any final advice?

  • YAY!!! I have no advice, but just wanted to say Good Luck!!! Can't wait to see pictures!!! :)
Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • Sorry, no advice here. But good luck!!!
  • Just when you think you've taken too many pictures. Take one more. Make sure to get pictures of everybody who comes to visit and lots of the new family.

As far as labor...don't forget to breathe :) It's an amazing and wonderful experience. Treasure every second you can. Even the bad ones.

  • Unless you are videotaping, play back the moment you first see G over and over in your head so you don't forget it. For me it was the greatest moment of my life seeing R for the first time and hope I never forget it. I try to replay it in my head as often as I can so the memory won't fade. GL anf can't wait to see her!
  • no matter how bad you think you think look take tons of pictures with you and your baby.

don't worry about being polite, if something bugs you tell someone

If you start to feel like you can't do this, remember your body was built to do this. And you have plenty of people around to help you.

  • No matter what happens, how she gets here, how long it takes, none of it will matter once she's in your arms.

Insist on holding her as soon as possible and then mark that moment forever. It will be the most amazing moment of your life.

    Good luck my friend.

  • Thank you, ladies!
  • I just read your confession and don't even worry about being mean. The nurses have seen a lot worse. And my DH doesn't even really remember what I said or how I treated him during either labor
  • I have no advice, but just wanted to send you <3.

    Good luck!

  • Have someone take lots of pics, savor every one of those first moments with your baby, and take slippers. You're gonna do great!
  • I wanted to post more earlier, but our internet is acting up as usual.  It means a lot to me that you are taking the time to give me your words of wisdom. I know I have a lot to learn, and I am so glad I have all of you to give us advice and the support that we need.
  • Use the mirror! Best decision I made, it's amazing. Good luck sweetie. <3

This is one of the only complaints I have about my experience. I requested a mirror when we got to the delivery room and they couldn't find one. Nobody ever brought me one.

see now I think the human body is amazing. As a health care professional I am endlessly fascinated by the intricacies of it all and I think labor is one of the most amazing processes of them all.

However that is just something I just don't wanna see. Nope, no way, noooo thank you.

Of course, now that I think of it, G said he wasn't gonna look but he did and said it was amazing.

So now I don't know but I just don't think it's for me.

p.s. I didn't look with Val either but mostly because I forgot to ask her if it was OK if I did.

What? After all was said and done, you didn't see her vag??

  • I did not. I didn't want to invade her privacy. I stood up at her shoulder and when I was "down below" so to speak I was aiming the camera so I didn't get the vag in the shot. I would put the Dr or her H in the way.

I did see the afterbirth though in passing. It was SO cool looking.
