I applied to my dream organization about 2.5 years ago. I kept updating my resume in their online database and they called me for an interview twice (one last year and one earlier this month). Well I just got an offer for a position. It is not my dream position but this organization is known for promoting from within. However, the offer is initially for 3months which is normal for most of their job offers. Also, the change in salary would be a raise of over 30% (I told you guys my salary is super skinny)!!
So, what would you do? I am very risk aversive but this is my dream organization and DH says that I should go for it! I need to give them an answer by Monday. Then I need to tell my current job good bye..what do I say (if I decide to go for it, that is)?
Thanks for your input! I am so excited, yet nervous!!

Re: What would you do?
go for it!!?
it sounds like a great opportunity to get your foot in the door of your dream organization and hopefully you'd be able to work towards your dream job once you are there.
and a 30% salary increase is definitely a check in the "pro" column!?
good luck karllen!!
and FWIW, everything that i've felt simultaneously excited and nervous about has turned out for the best - going to college, studying and working abroad (all three times i felt that way), meeting and marrying DH?
I think I might have missed the cons, too.
Go for it!

Congrats girlie! Definitely go for it! Ya know, I worked for my last company for 9 years 'cause I was afraid of change, but after they moved my job from SI to mid town and I stuck it out for a year and a half, I couldn't do it anymore and needed to leave. I was afraid if it didn't work out at the new job I would have nothing tho'...but everything happens for a reason and I took that new job...and soooo glad I did! I'm not in that position anymore, but it opened the door for a better one...just like that will happen for you! I hope I told this story the way I wanted to and you understand what I'm saying. lol ANYWAY, GO FOR IT!
