Having a Baby Dr. Recommendations

Hi everyone~

I am new to new orleans and just found out I am expecting.  Any doctor or hospital recommendations would be great.  I am looking for something close.  I live in between the Garden District and Uptown.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Having a Baby Dr. Recommendations

  • I don't know if I"m spelling the name properly but Dr. Perrett at Touro (I think) is highly recommended.  I didn't use her but there is a "Best of" in the Gambit Weekly (a local paper type thing) and she's in there.  I've seen her name on here bunches of times.

Come to the nest baby boards (or the new stupidly named Bump).

  • I recently found out I'm expecting as well and I'm also new to the area. I am using Dr. William von Almen who was recommended by several knottie/nesties and I absolutely love him. We plan to deliver at Touro off of Prytania between Louisiana and Napoleon. HTH!

  • I don't have any recommendations because I live on the westbank. But, I just wanted to say congratulations!!!  I hope you have a very healthy and fun pregnancy.
  • congrats! i won't recommend my doctor, since he only deals with high-risk pregnancies, and i hope you don't fall into that category. :) but i delivered at ochsner, and though it's not as close as touro, it was fantastic. i was there for 2 weeks, and it everyone was amazing.

     again, congrats!

  • Just wanted to say CONGRATS! My Dr. is Dr. Ellen Kruger. She's at Oschner on Jefferson highway, so its probably not the most convenient for you, but I love her!

  • I'll second Dr. Krueger at Ochsner.  She's the best.  She delivered my niece and will likely deliver my babies.

Congrats on becoming a new mommy!

  • Third for Dr. Kruger!?

I haven't delivered with her ?because I'm not ready for kids yet, but my sister, her best friend and my good friend all did, and they LOVE her. My best friend is also a labor and delivery nurse at Oshsner, so I always feel safe there.

It really isn't as close, but it's not too far either!?

  • Jennifer Lapeyrolerie at Touro.
  • I just wanted to tell you that I had an amazing experience at Ochner WestBank.  Amazing!
  • Thank you everyone for your recommendations Smile
  • I just had a baby in February and I loved Dr. Bone.  She is with EJ and is part of Lakeside Women's Specialty Center. I highly reccomend her, she was so awesome.  I had DS at EJ and can't complain about my delivery at all.  The classes were also great.

  • im a labor and del nurse at lakeside and i see dr grace but dr graham and dr alexander are very very good!
  • Congrats on your pregnancy! We had a doctor who delivered at Touro for a while, but we decided to switch to Ochsner..the hospital is a little farther than Touro, but only about 15 minutes from Uptown. Everything is newer there, and I've dealt with TONS of people in the ob/gyn dept, and L&D...and can't say a bad thing! Everything is in one place (labs, hospital, doctors). I see Dr. Lapeyre, and she's wonderful, but I have friends who have used Dr. Charbonett and Dr. Kruger and they all loved their docs as well. Good luck with everything!!
