Re: Weight Poll (clicky)

  • My weight never really fluctuates. My body will change in good ways or bad ways, but my weight always stays put. It sucks when I want to try to lean out a bit, I just can't get that darn scale to budge! I know it's mental, but still frustrating.
  • I've gained a good 5-10 lbs since the wedding. It makes me pissed off. I attribute some of it to football season (which happens every year) and the fact that my office decides to stock the break room with awesome snacks every week for the past 2 months.
  • I'm currently stuck at plus 7 pounds and not happy about it.  I'm attributing it to several things:

    1) I have time to cook again and have been doing it all the time, so we rarely miss a meal and we have dessert quite often too

    2) We go out to eat more now that we aren't saving all our spare money for the weddign

    3) Its football season which means bad for you food and too many beers every weekend.

    4) I haven't really exercised since the wedding, I attempted the gym again and made it there 3 times, I got P90x dvds from a friend and made it approx. 1 week on the schedule.  I need to get motivated, NOW.

ETA: in an attempt to feel better about my laziness, I did lose 12 pounds in the month before the wedding, so I knew that wasnt sustainable.  A year ago I would have been happy to be where I am now, but now I feel fat.

  • I would say I have only gained about 1 to 5 since the wedding. Now since we first started dating, that is a whole other story!

  • I voted other because I've been up and down.  I gained about 5 lbs, then lost it, but since I've been working (and not getting to the gym regularly) I've gained it back.  Ugh, I'm disgusted with myself right now.
  • Good poll Mames!

I too have gained since the wedding, between 1 and 5 lbs, probably because I was dieting like crazy leading up to it.

I am up a good 20 pounds from when we first started dating though! It's depressing looking at old pictures :( But at least I have lost *most* of the baby weight.?

  • i've gained about 10 pounds since the wedding, i had a serious workout routine back then, now...ehh. also since the honeymoon i haven't been so good at turning down unhealthy things.

  • I have lost weight, but not in a good healthy way.  When we were on our honeymoon I got sick with bronchitis.  Took about a month to get over that.  Then I had a gall bladder attack.  I was sick with that for the last month with that.  Now that I had my surgery, I'm finally starting to be able to eat again.  I'm sure by Christmas time comes, I will have gained weight.
  • I lost 10lbs before the wedding but haven't gone to the gym nearly as much and gained most of it back.  DH and I are going to the gym every Mon. night now so hopefully it's the start of something good.

  • Guess I'll answer my own poll. I think it's somewhere around the 5lb mark but I'm not certain since I don't weight myself that often -- especially when I feel I've gained. It's a definite gain though. :(  I lost weight being stressed and doing a semi low-carb diet before the wedding, and since then I haven't been as disciplined. I'm sick of feeling like this though and just want to go back to "wedding weight."

  • I voted other because I don't know.  I haven't been on a scale for a few weeks. I FEEL worse though.

  • I am up about 5 lbs since the wedding. I really need to get back to working out more and dieting but it's been nice not to worry about it like I was before the wedding
  • I gained about 8lbs back after the wedding, and I have lost it all again, and a little more. I'm doing a "Biggest Loser" challenge with DH's family, so it's really helping make sure I eat healthy and exercise. Boo!
  • The wedding day I got to my ultimate low on the range for my weight. I usually am plus/minus 2 lbs.  I am on the plus side of what I want to be.
  • I started at a new gym after not working out for about 3 weeks during the wedding and honeymoon. The scale at the new place says i've gained about 5 pounds, but none of my clothes fit any differently, I don't feel any different, and I don't think I look any different.
  • i am usually the most consistent person (seriously, since 6th grade) but after the wedding i have put on a net of 7-10 pounds depending on the week.

I think i gained all of it at our all inclusive honeymoon, and can't get motivated to try to lose it because i keep telling myself my body will regulate itself back out...its not.

BUT, i have DH convinced it is my BC just now kicking in. So he doesn't say a word about a single pound because he doesn't want babies anytime soon, hah!

haha... I wish I had that excuse.

  • 84% of us have gained! That Newlywed Nine is sooo not a myth. Boo. I refuse to be that woman who looks longingly at her wedding pics and think "Oh my! Look how great I looked.... once."

  • i clicked that i lost weight. i haven't been doing pushups or situps lately so my muscles have shrunk a little bit. plus my appetite is down because i was sick with the flu a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't fully recovered. but if it wasn't for that i would be maintaining my weight. i still get out and walk for about 30-45 a day and that helps a lot.

  • I actually lost a couple pounds on our honeymoon, but gained it back and then some! :(  However, I have been losing weight and I am now 5 pounds less than I was when I got married.
