knottie now nestie

Hi everyone, I have been married since November of last year, but I have been so ridiculously busy that I have not had a chance to visit the site. This is my first time on the nest, so I just wanted to say hello! I also wanted to know if my husband (so weird to say "husband") is the only man who puts his clothes next to the hamper rather than inside of the hamper.........just curious, because I am really beginning to feel like a single mom sometimes........and I don't have any children!

Re: knottie now nestie

  • sorry...I'm the "kid" in this family.  I leave clothes everywhere.  DH does, however, leave his clothes on the back of the couch or hanging over the baby swing with intentions of wearing them again.  But when his clothes are dirty, he puts them in the hamper.
  • Welcome to "the other side"!

That was too funny!  My DH is actually very good about cleaning up after himself.  However, due to the fact that we're moving soon and living out of a hotel room...I'm afraid that having a cleaning service will spoil him and cause bad habits!

  • Hahahah, DH and I fought about this for the 1st year we lived together! I mean seriously the man leaves clothese everywhere! Now, I just put the hamper on his side of the bed so if the clothes don't make it into the hamper at least I don't have to look for it!

    Congrats on the wedding!

  • Ha!  My DH is too anal to leave his French cuff shirts laying around.  His clothes are neatly hung after each wearing until time to 'launder' them.

Now, me on the other hand, near the closet/hamper/washer is good enough!

  • Hi and welcome!

This is an ungoing battle b/w DH and I.  It is not just his clothes though (which BTW are strewn about over our antique rocking chair that should be seen and not covered under a mound) but everything.  My DH has this thing about 3's and leaves things around the house in 3's.  For example, I can state with certainty that at this moment there are three pocket knives, three baseball hats, and three pairs of shoes either on or under my coffee tables in the living room.  I pick them up every night but somehow they find their way back to the coffee tables.  Also, we have two hampers, one for his work clothes which are gross and greasy and another for everything else.  Well, for some reason my DH cannot grasp the challenge of which basket is which even though they are now labeled and color coded.  It's a losing battle but I love him anyway!

  • At least yours gets them NEXT to the hamper.  If I go home ONE MORE TIME to pull funky socks from under the bed.......even the dust bunnies are running for their lives.

    Welcome!
