Excited to be on this side of the coin. Now we have to work on getting a house. I am so uneducated when it comes to this stage. I am sure I will be asking a lot of you a tom of questions.

I'M in that stage and I am woefully lacking. However, I CAN tell you first and foremost to GET YOUR CREDIT STRAIGHT. Both of you. Get your scores boosted as much as you can, take care of any old debts, keep close watch on your credit report and credit score, and decide together what you guys actually want from a house.

I second dramaqueen! We found a house, had a down payment and when the finance co. ran our credit, old debts of DH's parents were on his report. We had a time dealing with that, but thankfully my brother was our loan manager and helped a ton.
