The kids and I are at my parents house so I can use their phone this morning. I walked outside to my car and shut the door behind me. Little did I know the door was locked and I couldn't get back in. My kids were inside all by themselves. I went to the backdoor to check it, but of course it was locked too. Cole was just standing at the back door looking at me. I went to the neighbors house to call my mom so she could come let me in ... instead she told me she has an extra key hidden b/c she locked herself out a couple of weeks ago. I was gone for all of 3 minutes so they weren't left alone for hours. And poor little Cole was still standing at the backdoor just looking around going "momma, momma".
My parents have some kind of new fangled doors that stay locked, but when you twist from the inside it still opens. Stupid doors!
Re: I'm a genius I tell you
Glad you were able to get back inside in a short amount of time.
DH's gma has those type of locks and it amazes me that she doesn't lock herself out all the time.
Oh no! Glad you were at least able to get back inside quickly.
Our doors are the same way. It took 3 months after moving in for me to lock myself out and have to walk across the street to the neighbors in my pj's to call MH. I give awesome first impressions. We now also have a key hidden.
oh no! I couldn't have doors like that, I'd forever lock myself out! I worry about doing that with Elise though, either locking myself out of the house like you did, or locking my keys in the car with her!
Our neighbor has a key just in case
