Does anybody have a rec to get a bday cake for a 1st bday?
My cw is looking to get a 2 tier cake for his twins' 1st bday party. He's looking into something like the top 2 tiers of this, but the quotes he's been getting are from 200-600. He doesn't want to spend too much, and it's a small party of like 30 people max. Any recs? He's in Queens.

Re: Does anybody have a rec to get a bday cake for a 1st bday?
Unfortunately, that's about what he's going to pay for something like that. The only recs I can give you will be for around that price, if not more. Fondant work is very expensive 'cause it's time consuming. If you'd still like my recs, let me know...
I got my groom's cake from Sugar Coated (www.sugarcoatedinc.com). It was around $300, but it was a baseball stadium replica. It was also two years ago so I don't know if her prices have gone up but it's worth a shot!
It was DEEELISH, btw.
it doesn't hurt to give him a couple of options.
Danielle gave you my rec for queens and I used Jackie's Cake boutique here in SI. She does wonderful work and her cakes are delicious. www.jackiescakeboutique.com
Maybe check with Deb Lauren at citysweets. her prices are pretty reasonable I think and she's a sweetie. Explain what it's for and forward her the pic.
