Hotel for Anniversary Weekend
My DH and I are flying up to NY for Christmas with the family. Before we head out into the country we were thinking of spending a night in the city for our 5 year Anniversary. I usually stay with people when I'm there, and when I stayed there once with my mom it was a bit pricey. Any suggestions on mid priced hotels that might be nice to stay at for one night? I'm hoping to stick at less than $350 after tax... but would look at something if it were worth it. Any suggestions? I've been there quite a few times, but it will be the husbands first trip to NYC.
Thanks!
Kelsey

Re: Hotel for Anniversary Weekend
i would choose a neighborhood and do hotwire or priceline. i'd recommend downtown (ie. chelsea, the village, not wall street) or near central park b/c you should be able to find a good hotel for $250/night or less.??
HTH!?
If you are price concious then avoid Midtown and Times Square. That's basically the 40s through the 60s from east to west.
I had family in from Chicago and they stayed at the Inn on 23rd (www.innon23rd.com) and they were very happy with it. It's more like a B&B than a hotel so it's smaller and more intimate. And it's family owned, not a chain.
Not sure what their prices are for the holidays but in April they spent $250 (It was a suite for 5).
