We just moved in the house and it still needs to be painted not to mention we have a ton of boxes laying around..... I'm sooo not ready for this! HELP!!!! lol

Re: Thanksgiving... HELP!

  • You too, eh?

I'm hosting Thanksgiving as well, and I don't even know how to cook! Still not sure how I'm going to pull that one off!

    Good luck to you!

I can tell you that The Gourmet Butcher sells a very tasty Turducken.

  • Green bean casserole is a staple at my house. it is very easy to make and can be done ahead of time. Mashed potatoes, some sort of salad, rolls or bread, some kind of stuffing, and pumpkin pie for dessert (mom will be bringing her YUMMY apple pie!) - that is what I have on my menu so far. I too am hosting Thanksgiving. I had to buy a folding table for everyone to have a place to sit, but I still don't have any folding chairs! Oh, and did I mention that I have never made a turkey! I plan on doing as much of the prep work (chopping veggies, making the pie, etc.)  as possible when I'm off on Wednesday

  • The menu in our house is always the same: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes (the boxed variety), sweet potato casserole, carrot souffle, mac & cheese, rolls, and cranberry sauce.

My brother is cooking this year (he rotates traveling to Memphis every year with his in-laws).  So we will have lunch at his house and dinner with my in-laws at my house.  I'll be in charge of the mac & cheese and carrot souffle for both houses, but my in-laws are bringing the turkey and my MIL makes this oyster dressing that makes me yak, so she can bring that.

You still have plenty of time, so relax and reward yourself with a busy day of shopping the day after Thanksgiving!
