This girl is insane
So one of my classes does weekly discussions online. Every week a group of 2 or 3 students outlines the chapters for that week and then thinks up 5 questions for each chapter. To date, the longest outline/question combo has been 9 pages. That was for 2 chapters and 10 questions.
Next week is my groups week so I'm looking over the outline one of the girls sent to me. It is 19 motherfucking pages long. Just the outline! And we have to add another chapter! And 10 questions!
I am trying to think of a tactful way to tell her that she needs to take this down to like 5 pages.

I don't think she's being an overacheiver like the pp mentioned, I think she's over compensating for her lack of talent. I agree she needs to take it down, good luck on figuring out the tactful way to tell her since that is not my strong suit.
Yeah, forget tact. If she's willing to do that to her classmates, she doesn't deserve your mercy.
I'm a people pleaser. I sent what I thought was a tactful email last night suggesting that since it's so long, she take out some of the graphs/charts since they are all in the text anyway and I just got an email back that had nothing in the body and just an attachment. Awesome. She probably hates me now.
And our outline of 2 chapters will now be 18 pages long. Super.
