weekend getaway ideas
I'm looking for a place for a relatively quick trip (Th-Sun, Fri-Sun) that's like 6 hrs or less from here to go to in Jan. I really wanted like Gatlinburg, but that's like 12 hrs away. I wanted cold and cabiny, but now it may be looking like B&B type in La or MS b/c of the time for traveling. Any ideas?
Best now are a resort at Toledo Bend, Natchitoches and Natchez.

the ozarks in arkansas are beautiful! i have stayed here before, and it's not too far from branson, if you like that sort of thing.

well it's not cold really, but Hodges Gardens up near Leesville has some really nice cabins. They're on lakes and the gardens are beautiful! Here is my link to my facebook pics from when we went:

As of right now, we decided to go up to Natchitoches for the big Christmas Festival and I am beyond thrilled! We have a room at a hotel, but are on waiting lists for a couple B&Bs...they're already booked up....GOSH!
