Ok, so our anniv is Sunday. Aside from the mushy gushy stuff that I have gotten him, I planned on getting him a mega jambalaya pot, which he has been wanting for like.. ever. they are about $80. Then his bday is the following week.. He has mentioned wanting a gun rack mount for his truck and those are about $90. THEN, last week he took his rifle to the gunsmith to get the trigger fixed and he found "THE GUN" he wants.. but I know him.. he won't buy it for himself. I believe it is $240, which is a great deal for that gun because they usually sell for $500-$600. I really want to get him the gun, but I know I can't afford the gun plus anniv gifts..
So my question is.. should I combine his anniv and birthday presents and get him the gun, or go as planned? I know his parents haven't gotten him anything, and neither have mine, and they usually spend $100 on us for birthdays, so I could let them know about the jam pot and the gun rack if they want ideas on what to get him..
Re: question..
That's a good idea, if they're willing to get the pot and gun rack.
Or do you have money in savings? I mean to where you could buy the gun for Christmas and store it at your parents house or something
Or buy him the gun for his birthday/anniversary and the gun rack for Christmas and the pot for Father's Day?
I just got off the phone with my mom and she said she was either going to get him the jam pot or a pair of hunting boots like the ones my dad has that D likes, so she is going to go with the pot.
I go today to pick up his rifle from the gunsmith, so I will most likely go ahead and purchase the gun. I'm just going to ask his mom this evening if she knows what she's getting him for his bday, bec unless I give them ideas, they'll just give him money.
So now the question is, do I give him the gun on anniversary or on bday?
This and let them know what's going on, if you have that type of relationship with them.
I was going to vote for the combined b'day/anny gift. That's an awesome price for a good gun.
If he got you an anniversary gift, then give it to him this weekend. Just be sure to let him know it's a combined gift.
And Happy Anniversary! That means ours is only a month away!
ditto what Shoe said.
and yay Happy Anniversary!
