Photobook falling apart

I was showing my wedding album to a friend last weekend when she pointed out pages were detaching from the binding. There are a few pages that are barely hanging on. Do you think if I contact the company (in this case Blurb), I would get a new book made? It's only about a month old and hardly ever touched.

Re: Photobook falling apart

  • This doesn't sound promising:

Blurb guarantees your satisfaction with the workmanship of your book. On the off chance your book arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, contact us via Blurb?s Order Support within 14 days of receipt. We?ll make things right. Please understand that Blurb does not provide refunds or cancel orders, and except for the cases expressly described in this return policy (i.e., your book arrives damaged, with a manufacturing defect or a defect in workmanship), Blurb cannot otherwise accept returns.

Please note that each book you order from us is individually made by one of Blurb?s top-notch professional book-printing partners. There may be minor differences across different prints of the same books and/or across books printed by our different book-printing partners, including, but not limited to, slight variances in color fidelity and binding type. While we work very hard to keep our product as consistent as possible, this variation is a normal occurrence and is not considered a manufacturing defect or a defect in workmanship and does not qualify for a reprint.

  • I could try to call anyway. You never know what might happen, though it doesn't sound good.
  • Thanks! I emailed them about it. I'm sad that I've rec'd Blurb to so many people and then my pages start coming out. :( I paid too much money to just order another one.

  • Whoa! Response!

Thanks for letting us know about this problem with your book. I'm sorry to hear that we did not get things right for you in the first place.

Your order has been submitted to our printer for a reprint. You?ll soon receive an automated email message with your new order number. This new order number can also be found in your order history when you log into your Blurb account.

Also, would you please email us a digital image that clearly shows your book's defect? Simply attach the image(s) and return to us via this email. To ensure the attachment goes through, please CC the following email address:
    photonoreply@blurb.com

We use these images to follow-up on quality issues at our print facilities, and we appreciate your help in maintaining our high standards.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about this reprint process.

  • I'm sorry to hear about your book, but that's a quick and amazing response back!! It always pays to just ask - the worst that can happen is that they say no.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I'm super pleased that there was no fight to get it reprinted. I just want a book that has pages that stay in the binding. Yay!!
