My MIL just friended me on Facebook

There's really no way to get out of that, is there?

Re: My MIL just friended me on Facebook

  • I've been friends with mine for a few months now, so I'd say no.
  • sadly, there is no way out of it. although you can block her from seeing certain things on your profile. i could almost strangle my sil for showing mil how to sign up for facebook. as you can probably see from the comments on my cell phone post last week if you're on my friends list. aghhhhh
  • No...there isn't. I got that a couple weeks ago.

  • Unfortunately no way out... my MIL uncovered an entirely different side of me from mine and my friends pics on facebook...
  • I will have to agree with everyone else, no way out! I do have mine blocked from seeing seeing certain things on my profile, ie: pics of me and pics my friends tagged.
  • Believe it or not I know someone with two FB profiles for this very reason.  She has a sanitized one where she has friended her ILs and then the honest one where she denigrates her stepson.

  • You can pick and choose what she can see but I'm not sure how.  I'd figure that out pretty quickly once you friend her!  I'm friends with a few family members and in-laws but my BIL just sent me a request and I want to restrict him.  Not that I'm wild and crazy, I just feel weird letting him see everything.

  • as far as getting out of it, you could friend her then defriend her soon after.  I've thought about doing that with a few people.  If they ask I just plan on playing dumb.  I'll tell them that it had to be a Facebook fluke! Stick out tongue

  • Ha ha - both my mom and MIL want me to set them up on facebook. So far, I've refused but they keep pressuring me. Not that I have any big secrets on there, I just think it might be weird if they started commenting on my posts/friends posts/etc. I keep thinking if I don't bring it up, they'll forget about it... Stick out tongue
