DH and I were at the Colerain Ave Home Depot tonight and saw Mark Mallory. Anyone else ever have a celeb (real or just local) sighting?
Re: Famous people run-ins?
I had a 15-20 minute conversation with James Caan in 2002 when I was in NYC with 8 other girlfriends for a trip and well, I had no idea who he was!! They were shooting the movie Elf with Will Ferrell and he was standing outside the window scene where Will Ferrell curls up and is sleeping when his dad(James Caan) walks by and sees him.
He was hilarious, now that I know who he is!! He was totally playing the I'm not famous card because I of course asked him what movie they were shooting and who was in it etc. etc. etc.. and he kept telling us to hold on that Will ferrell would be out in a few minutes and we could see him! LOL I bet he got a huge laugh out of us dumb blondes after we walked away! I remember asking him if he was famous and he said no...he was an extra in the movie!!! My husband still gives me crap about not knowing who James Caan was. Oh well... I didn't realize who he was until I went to see the movie and one of the girls who was with me in NYC and I just looked at each other with our mouthes open like "oh my god that man tricked us"
I was in the band at UC, so saw Bob Huggins all the time.
One of the doctors' offices I used to work out had several local celebrity patients: Regina Russo (or whatever her name is now), Ken Broo, and the drummer from Blessed Union of Souls, to name a few.
Me...I've only met Marvin Lewis. Had a full conversation with him once at Kenwood country club. After he walked away I realized it was Marvin Lewis. Probably nice for him to have someone to talk to that doesn't bring football up.
My Dad met the Backstreet Boys in a airport in Germany. He had Nick Carter sign his plane ticket but then Nick Carter walked off with my Dad's ticket. My Dad had to chase them down and convince the bodyguard that Nick had his ticket, which he did.
I've met a few, mostly sports guys. Kyle Petty, Jeff Gordon, James Blake, Thomas Enqvist, Matt Hardy (wrestler, I had no clue who he was but the nicest guy ever), Peter Frampton... I used to waitress. I actually had Blake at the table next to Frampton, which made my coworkers love me (not).
DH works in television, he's met a ton. I was super jealous when he did interviews with George Clooney.

uber jealous! i have never met him though i have been a fan since i was like 12.
That is funny...I was just there Sunday early afternoon.
To answer the question, I saw Chris Young (country singer) and another competitor from Nashville Star eating at Ruby Tuesday down in Murfreesboro. Haven't seen anyone since moving here.

DH has been in his house (just to do exterminating, nothing exciting)
I've also met Bishop Desmond Tutu and the father of one of the Indigo Girls (who is pretty well known in his own right as a theology scholar). We all worked at the same school of theology. I was a librarian, they were professors.
I waited on Charlie Luken's ex wife when she came into my dad's store, back when she was still his wife, back before the Norma Rashid "scandal."
Oh, and I've seen the mayor of Dayton out and about a few times but I don't have much respect for her so I'm not counting her as famous.
I ate dinner at Don Pablos and sat next to Drew and Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. I met Jonathan Taylor Thomas when I was little at Coney Island ( I was convinced I would marry him one day, lol). I served Trisha Mackie (sp?) the 19 News Anchor when I worked at Bob Evans in high school.
I used to work in the sports and entertainment industry so I've met quite a few.
I've played cards with Justin Timberlake. My Mom was good friends with Brittany Snow's Mom and they've been to our house. My Mom's Godson is the Bengal's new punter, Kevin Huber so I've known him since he was born.
Hmmm, who else...I've met Christina Aguilera, Mike Madono, Alex Rodriguez, Rafael Palmeiro, Troy Aikman, Tiger Woods, Aaron Baddeley (golfer), Bob Costas, Yao Ming, Serena Williams, Marvin Lewis, Mark Cuban and the 2004 Reds.
I covered the Dallas Cowboy's training camp so I met the whole team then. At the 2004 Olympics in Greece, I covered the Opening and Closing ceremonies where I met tons of athletes and also covered the men's and women's gymnastics competitions and met both teams.

I saw Eric Clapton looking at cds at the Barnes and Noble's near OSU's campus in Columbus. It was before he and his wife got married but she was very pregnant. He was humming - I was crazy excited.
I had a flight with Dave Chapple from San Francisco to Dayton. We used to stalk the back door at Bogarts so I've met Shirley Manson of Garbage, Art Alexakis of Everclear and some other people like that. I used to work at a restaurant in Columbus and waited on some local sports heroes like Chris Speilman. I guess that's about it...
I've met Mark Mallory and was in the same room with Bill Clinton and Gwen Eiffel, though I didn't meet them. Gwen was two feet away from me. I feel like there are more but I can't remember. Oh, Joshua Radin and Schuyler Fisk (singers/songwriters).
When I was a kid, we ran into Jimmy Buffet and Towne place. My uncle told him he was my cousin's favorite singer and then asks 'Hey Eric, who's your favorite singer"..."BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN!" haha, he got a good laugh out of it. At least when we asked him his favorite song he started singing (and dancing) "fins to the left, fins to the right.."
In my more recent years I've met Marvin Lewis, several olympic swimmers, Dave Matthews, George Clooney, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, Jeff Ruby, known the Graeters my whole life (can you tell I like food??). I have a friends that plays for the NO Saints and actually sees the field. OK, now Im just stretching "celebrity"
Megs&Nick- H played football atMcNich with Jeremy
I met David Duchovny in an NYC Starbucks once. On that same trip, our tour group had a private one-on-one session with Robyn and Diane from GMA. Diane is from Kentucky, so we got to sit down and have lunch with her - she's really awesome IRL.
I got to work with Jamie Farr (MASH) in the Broadway tour of Say Goodnight Gracie.
I'm sure there are others, but they've slipped my mind...
