T&P's for my stepmom-massage gone very wrong.
I will try to make this short. My dad & step mom went and got massages last sunday (a week ago). My step mom got up from the table and was unable to move her right arm. the massage people told her to go home and ice it... 4 hrs later she still can't move her arm. my dad takes her to the ER.... she has an MRI. very bad the drs tell her, crushed/disloacted disc c5-c6 (which is pretty high up in your neck) they schedule her for a neuro appt on monday. an appt and 2 more MRIs later and she is admitted to the hosp and having surg Tuesday on her neck. the MGR calls my dad tuesday, how is your wife... my dad says, well she is having surgerytoday---mmm massage place didn't have much to say after that!.....
so as of today she still has no movement. my dad said she is back at work- not sure how since she is an RN on the cardiac floor... but she is there. my step mom is SUPER independent she relies on no one for anything. I have an 11yr old sister. So my dad, who usually works out of town, is not working very much and driving the two of them around. My dad said she can't drive, she can't dress her self, she can barely feed herself. She is right handed. To use her right arm she has to hold it up w/ her left arm.
The dr's said she "may" regain the use of her arm. Uhm whoa! So she needs lots of prayers right now!!

OMG, I had no idea that could happen from a massgae. How awful. Sending thought and prayers to your family and hoping for a complete and quick recovery!!

My dad has his lawyer working on it. My dad was really upset with the way the company handled it. They told her twice to go home and ice it, and after 4 hrs she still couldn't move her arm, they told her to ice it more. The MGR called my dad while they were in the ER and he told my dad she didn't need to be at the ER she needed to see a chiropractor. and then when my dad told him tues that she was going to surgery he really had nothing to say. My dad said they acted like it was nothing!! craziness!
Uhm, I'm not sure what the place is called. I'm not sure if it's a chain or if its a private place. It's in the at complex my dad lives in, or near there, in downtown orlando.
WHOA. i just text my dad, he said it was Massage Envy. Holy crap, how weird is that. Did she sue the company? Wow, that is so scary! Note to self, NEVER go there! My step mom said she is never going to get another massage ever again. I don't think i'll never get one either! That is so scary!

I guess she just picks her right arm up with her left arm and puts it on the desk. ugh i cant imagine how miserable she must be! they meet with the attorney tomorrow. Man, i feel so bad for her. I wish I lived closer to them so i could help my dad out!
