Now I realize that this may be me over reacting more than I would if I weren't pregnant, but I stikk think it was inconsiderate.
One of the girls in my office walks in this morning and starts saying how she isn't feeling well and how she had a fever all weekend. Well, our office manager got ahold of her and told her she needed to be tested for the flu. She refused. The doctor we work for told her she needed to be tested for the flu. She refused again. Then this afternoon, he came back and told her that she needed to get tested, there was no arguing. So she finally went and got tested, around 230. Well, of course her test came back positive (they automatically are treating for swine flu due to how early in the season it is). She was told to put a mask on immediately and wouldn't, until one of the other drs gave it to her. Then she wouldn't wear the mask the correct way. She even had the audacity to ask if she could stay the rest of the day! I told her no, she needed to leave now. (She didn't like that too much, but oh well). She dragged her feet and didn't leave until after 3.
So here she is spending the majority of the day touching things I touch, breathing the air I breath and exposing me to her flu germs. And of course she wasn't the least bit sorry for any of it. I sure hope she doesn't try to come in tomorrow!
Re: How inconsiderate can someone be?
I would be mad also. I mean come on, do people not realize that this flu stuff is serious. I think you can recover but why in the world would you come to work sick....ughhh.
Friday afternoon I was eating at McDonalds with Kelsey and my MIL and we hear this lady say to a friend she saw....he has has a fever for 3 days and out of school but its not as high today so I think he is getting better.....ummm WHAT? you brought your sick child to McDonalds inside to eat and play on the playground...why must you be so dumb!
