Poor Phil stood up on Saturday from the couch, and was in instant pain. And now he's been off work for two days and flopped out on muscle relaxants. I know back pain is pretty common and doctors don't really do much about it, but are there any at home remedies I could help him with? We're supposed to drive 6 hours on Friday to get back to Ottawa for Thanksgiving and I'm SO worried about him in the car. =(
Re: (xp)back pain issues
Ooh, sorry to hear that Alyson! Tiger balm or ben-gay has been helpful to me. Also a heating pad. Can he go see a doctor before Friday? How about also reclining the passenger seat most of the way back so that he is as comfortable as possible?
On an unrelated note, I did notice on HIMYM (How I met your mother) that Robin says there is a Canadian Thanksgiving, but I didn't realize that it was really true! Leave it to an American to be so clueless and America-centric, huh. And to be not able to think of a better way to say what she means but by making up some word like "America-centric."
Hope he feels better soon!
Can he try to get into see some type of massage therapist, physio or chiro before you guys travel?
They sell Aleve in Canada now, so if he has any inflammation it's really helpful.
I don't know if I realized you were Canadian. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving weekend! I love it (it's also my birthday weekend)!
Good luck with the drive! I hope Phil feels better.

Another vote for the disposable heating pads. Heat works wonders for me!
Also, Jen this cracked me up!
