Mama's, how many weeks along were you when you had your shower?
Mama's to be, when is your shower and how far along will you be?
My SIL is 24 weeks along and has had a *very* difficult pregnancy (also had a miscarriage at about 12 weeks a year ago). She may not go full term, we are not sure right now...
I'm looking at throwing her a baby shower when she's around 30 weeks? I just want to do something special for her
I'm just quite sure when it should be though... 30 weeks is early November and I don't want to have one in December as the Christmas functions begin quite early.
Any feedback or should I just go ahead and start planning?

I love Hawaii!

Re: Baby shower question
I think 30 weeks sounds perfect, especially considering health concerns and holidays.
I think most people say to shy away from the last month because the mom to be might be too uncomfortable, but other than that just do what works for your situation.
I had one last weekend - EEK, sooooooo early. I felt a little ridiculous but it was the only time I was going to be visiting the ILs before the baby is born, so my SILs just went ahead and did it anyways and everyone invited knew the travel situation.
Good advice, thank you!!
We of course are unsure of an early delivery... so the earlier the better might be the way to go for sure.

I am thinking 27-28 weeks would be nice...start of the third tri and still plenty of time to shop after the shower for things that were not received. Also helps if there are concerns about baby coming early!

I had one at 33 and another at 35 weeks. While I was ok, I had to travel for both (4.5 and 3 hrs). I recommend 28-30 weeks if any traveling is involved, and like pp said, it also gives plenty of time to shop for whatever isn't received.
I'm going to spend the 3 day weekend coming up trying to take inventory of what we have and what we need yet (or what we need to take back). Hopefully I can order what I need online or see what's available on craigslist.
I think I was 35 weeks for my first and then 37 weeks for the second. I would have perfered to have them sooner since I was so tired and I didn't get to really shop until after the shower to see what gifts I had gotten.
30 weeks would be a perfect time to have a shower IMO.
Good luck. Very sweet of you to plan:-)

I had my shower at Week 32, Day 4.
I think that a shower at Week 30 is perfectly appropriate. Renee makes a good point, you can't really go shopping until after the shower, so you want to have it early enough so that they're not too big to go shopping after... Of course nothing really stops MOST WOMEN from SHOPPING... But she could get put on bedrest, is what I am thinking.
