let's talk about underwear

So, I know this is all very TMI, but what the hell - we've discussed toilet paper in great detail, right? Wink And I'm wondering if what I do is weird, soooo...

Re: let's talk about underwear

  • I have tons of undies, and I wash them in lingerie bags, so they last a pretty good amount of time.  If they start showing signs of age, they're gone!  I think I've had some of them longer than 5 years... they just don't get worn very often.

  • Ha!  I thought for sure I would be the only one who picked the last option, but I guess I was wrong!

I definitely try to keep all of my clothes in good shape.  I have skirts that I bought 10 years ago that I still wear and get compliments on regularly.  I am definitely a "clothes-saver", and that extends to my undies.  Only when they get a hole or lose the elastic do they get tossed.  I do however usually use the new underwear in my drawer most frequently, and just save the older stuff at the bottom of the drawer for "laundry emergencies".  So they don't get worn that often--I just like having them there just in case I haven't had a chance to do laundry in two weeks which, let's face it, happens every once in a while.  Embarrassed

I also feel kinda weird about just throwing old undies in the trash.  I once heard that in Japan woman burn their old underwear before they throw them out, b/c there is a big problem with men stealing ladies used underwear out of the trash.

Ditto on the first paragraph, but EWWWWWWWW on the 2nd!  Makes me want to burn mine too!

  • I'm so glad I'm not the only one who still has underwear that's like a decade old. I'm the worst at chucking stuff out! I have pjs that are 15 years old and have a massive rip on the bum that I can't bear to part with for some reason.
  • yep i am definitely a clothing saver too-i have stuff from college even high school that i still use-however undies just don't seem to last very long
  • How funny! I thought that I was being weird for sure by saving them until they're practically falling off my body, but nearly everyone picked the last option! Now I don't feel so weird. Stick out tongue

Oh yeah, definitely. I still wear clothes from high school sometimes. As long as it fits and it's not shredding or have holes in them, then why not? =)

I'm very jealous of both you and Alix being able to wear clothes from your high school days. It's so sad that I thought I was fat in those days...I was SMOKIN'! Stick out tongue

  • Lisa- Congrats on the twins! Love the post too. Hell I have undies of all flavors. lol  There were the single days ones (you know the pirate eye patch ones), the married ones (not too whorish), the PG ones (hell more like flags, but we were going for comfort, right?!) and now the mom ones (the ones where you need comfort/still trying to feel like you have a vagina/and of course a little larger than pre-PG). lol
