OK so I've decided to finally get on the blog train. I have a question about templates. I found a template I like on blogskins but I can't figure out how to upload it onto my blog. It keeps saying there's an error. Malia- i also have a question for you...It looks like you are using a classic template. Assuming I am right how did you get the lima beans behind your title??? I am so not smart when it comes to blogs/websites/computers in general! Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA ladies!
Re: ??? for all my blog gals
I forget... But I think I googled lima beans and found that image then wrote the text onto it in Picassa, then saved it as a jprg and uploaded it to the header of the blog template...
I've been meaning to change my blog "look" now that Alexa is here and is no longer a bean!

Yay Jaime! I cannot wait to read your blog. I am interested in the replies too since I am not using any cute templates just the boring ones you can customize (somewhat) at Blogger.com
I'd love to have one that is more attractive!

Some of the skins can only be used with certain versions of blogger (e.g., some are only meant for Blogger Classic, etc.), so that could be the problem depending on what template you're using. Have you tried uploading a different one, just to see if it's a problem with the code in that one template?
To put an image behind or instead of your header, find or make one that's the right size and shape for the header that you want. Then go to the Layout tab, then Page Elements. You'll see one section marked Header - click the edit link that's in that section. From there you can upload an image to use as your header, and select either "Behind title and description" if you want it behind text that you've typed, or "Instead of title and description" if you want it instead of text (for example, if you've added your own text to an image in Photoshop like I've done for mine).
