So excited about this week's blood work!
Yes, I really am, but only because it's the 1hr glucous and I'm planning on making D take me shopping in between.
Right now I'm strategically planning which lab to go to for the best shopping. I'm thinking the one close to Bonnie Togs and Walmart.
It's sad that Walmart is making me so giddy.
Re: So excited about this week's blood work!
Truth be told, Walmart makes me giddy sometimes too! Enjoy your trip out of the house. I hope your test goes well.
I do not want to burst your bubble, but you are not allowed to leave, you have to stay put during the test, bring a good book, it sucks, they only let you go to the bathroom, but no walking around or anything, it can do something to your results.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
yep, it sucks, you can't leave. I wanted to leave the building just to pay my parking, but they wouldn't let me. sorry to burst your bubble too.
hopefully since you are still out of the house, you can go out shopping.
Oh, that's right! My OB arranged it so that I went downstairs to drink the orange stuff, then went up to her office for my regular appointment, then back down for the blood work, which was nice. But I wouldn't have been allowed to leave the building.
Sorry, Amy.
MOTHER OF PEARL! This is so not cool. I've been looking foward to this for weeks.
7.5 more weeks...
This sucks a lot Amy. You should go shopping on the way home. You deserve it!
Also, this whole thread is really making me lean towards not taking the glucose test (my midwife says I have the choice). Thanks for the info ladies!
Really? I've never heard of that. I am not being given a choice. But even if I was, I think that 19 pound baby born a couple of weeks ago would scare me into it
apparently midwives give the choice. I have no risk factors, so they are leaving the choice to go up to me (unless something comes up that makes them think I should go).
Part of me thinks I should go b/c I was such a big baby (11 lbs 10 oz), but apparantly that has nothing to do with my potential to get GD. Also I reallllllllllllllllllllllllllly hate blood work, so maybe I won't go....
I was given the option as well and I also hate needles but I still decided to do it because if I had come back with GD there are things that I could do throughout the remainder of the pregnancy to make things safer for me and the baby.
Just something to think about.
