My boss has come around and is all of a sudden very willing to work with me in regards to getting my hours done (yay!). But now the schools won't e-mail me back.
I e-mailed one school on 9/8 about an observation on 9/28 and never heard back. I e-mailed two schools on 10/4 about an observation on 10/8 and 10/13. E-mailed the first school yesterday to follow up and nothing yet, and that is the school I would have liked to go to tomorrow.
I don't know at what point I should contact the field experience director at SLU. I contacted her once about the very first school and she said just to move onto another school. But now it's three of them that I can't get to respond! I don't know what's so hard about a yes or no e-mail.I mean I know the principals are busy but still.
I don't want to be a PIA at SLU and harass the director but I'm running out of schools and time.
Re: I feel like a PIA - WWYD?
Contact the director asap. You don't want to be scrounging at the last minute begging for help. It's going to look like you waited till the last minute. They are there to help their students. I would just say something along the lines of, "I hate to bother you again but it appears I've hit another roadblock. Is this something that happens often? Do you have any advice?" and so on...
HTH, love!
I'd talk to the director too, just CYA.
I found that emails never worked for me, I always had to call the schools, so you may want to try doing that. If you do any EBR schools, most of those you can just walk into the office and asked to observe a classroom. The LSU Lab School also will let anyone in without an appointment to observe.
