Too many treats for my pup
Last night was the WORST ever with poor Luka. We took him out at about 11pm and then put him in the crate. He usually cries for about 10 to 15 minutes and then goes to sleep. So he keeps crying for about 20 minutes...I go downstairs and tell him it is okay...you know try to soothe him. He stops crying and I go back to bed. Then I hear him crying again....DH is of course fast asleep. I start to walk down the stairs and the STENCH just punches me in the face. Oh it was so bad. I ran to let him out. He had diarrhea all over the crate the poor baby. So now I am trying to wash his blankets, and drag his crate outside to wash out. Finally H wakes up and says "what is going on?" I was like "You can not smell what is going on??? The poor dog has the bad poops." So then he had to go again...of course we were outside at this point. So I ended up leaving the crate outside to dry, and just sleeping downstairs with Luka. I think I got about 4 hours of sleep...but me like bolting up every time I heard him stir because I didn't want him to have an accident. I called the vet today and she thinks I am giving him too many treats. Well she said it could also be because we changed the kind of treats we bought. I am hoping that doesn't happen again. I feel so bad for my poor little dog.
Re: Too many treats for my pup
DH and I were actually just laughing about it now. The poor dog is so tired from his bad night...he is asleep on the floor with all of his paws up in the air, and he looks so cute!
Too cute
Luka had parasites when we first got him so I was afraid that he had them again. Luckily I had dropped off a sample of his poop to the Vet on Tuesday so when I called her yesterday when I was worried she told me that his tests came back negative.
Oh that is very good to hear, I was worried they just told you over the phone it was just treats, and I didn't know if I should say something or not hahah.
Poor puppy
What kind of treats was it?
When we brought Loki for puppy training, we used the all-natural freeze-dried liver for treating during training... they works amazing, but the poor guy had the most upset stomach ever, so we havent used them since. We've been sticking with BillJacks and they've been working fine!
Oh J you could have said something for sure! I always appreciate good advice!
He is a German Shepherd. The treats I bought were Whole Foods and Wellness. The vet said to toss them and go back to the regular Iams.
