...it's been a while since I've been on this board but it's nice to be back and see some familiar names...and some new! Life has been hectic for me...actually, I feel a little like it's been spinning out of control! My daughter was diagnosed with a hip condition shortly after birth, she had surgery about two months ago and has been in a cast since. She has one more month in the cast and we are counting down the days until it comes off! I guess all of that combined with work and trying to get the hang of this whole mom business has kept me pretty busy!
Anyway, my sister is coming into town this weekend and we were going to go to the Michael Jackson tribute concert at the Taft on Saturday night but that was rescheduled for January. We were looking forward to dancing like crazy. Any other ideas of what we could do? I don't really want to do the bar scene...maybe more along the lines of a concert or going somewhere we can hear a good band (and possibly dance!) Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!
Hope everyone is well!
Re: Hello ladies...ideas for this weekend?
I read that their is an autism benefit at Nicholson's. They are supposed to have live bands, silent auctions (some decent rock n roll types of things)...the article said Friday in the beginning and Saturday later in the article so I am not sure which night it is. I read it at www.cincinow.com
BTW, some good friends of ours have a daughter who just got a spica (sp?) cast on. I feel for her; she is almost two and was just now diagnosed even though her mom has felt their was a problem all along. She just had the first of 3 surgeries about 2 weeks ago. If you have any advice of ways I could help them out or items they may find useful that would be amazing!!
You might like Jefferson Hall. I went there a couple weeks ago. They have a live band, and a dance floor (to the band). It seems to be a slightly older crowd (meaning not 22).
A loungy place that I like to go (usually on date night) is Carlo & Johnny in Montgomery. Not to eat, though their food is delicious $$$, but they have a large lounge with cozy seating, a live band and a dance floor. This place is usually not packed, a more relaxed atmosphere, but you can have a good time dancing.
If I think of something else, I'll let you know.
