That people feel like it's ok to say rude and inappropriate things?
This lady that does the filing at my work was asking about my sister that is pregnant. I said yeah she is due in December. She asked if it was the first grandchild on our side, I said yes. She was like oh there is nothing more special than the first grandchild. I just kind of looked at her like are you kidding, and she goes you should have beat her to it. This lady is like in her 70's but I wanted to smack her, maybe before you open your mouth you should realize that you don't know what people are going through.
That serioulsy just ruined my Friday buzz.

I agree some people need to learn to think before they speak!
Everyone on MH's side of the family had been making comments about my SIL not having any kids yet and then it occured to me it might not be as simple as she doesn't want to be pregnant. Maybe she can't get pregnant but just doesn't want to have to share that info with everyone. I haven't said anything to her about her having kids since. You just never know!
Want me to come throat punch her? I know she's 70 but she still deserves it

I know Jen, I almost said something that would make her feel really bad but I decided it wasn't worth it.
I dont think I ever told this story, but about a year ago we were at a christening and a woman who I know (she was at our wedding) but dont know that well came up to me and rubbed my stomach and said "oh, no baby yet, huh?" CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! I was beyond shocked that a grown woman would do that.
Are you kidding me?! I can not believe people can actually be that rude. Seroulsy, what is wrong with that women. People never know what other people are going through adn should keep their mouths shut. Wow that just made me really mad for you.
Yes, I can believe it. I've had similar comments made to me, but NO ONE dared to touch my stomach. I think I wouldn't have had any tact left for that kind of move and would've just said "WTF?!" and walked away.
Maybe that's it. We're too polite back.
Okay, you KNOW that rude old people have existed since the first old people. So that 70 year old that is now the old rude lady who doesn't think or wouldn't get it if she had thought before she spoke... what do you think old rude people said to her back when she was 20-something or 30-something? (It would've been around 1950s.)
But really... people will ALWAYS find something to say. When it wasn't kids, Jo, it was marriage. When it wasn't marriage, it was career. When it wasn't career, it was boyfriend. People will ALWAYS come up with something. I mean.. when you've got kids, they'll just ask about MORE kids?!
