Re: FFF
I wish I could go home and let my dogs out on my lunch break since they refused to go out this morning due to rain and I am supposed to go straight to my IL after work to go with them to see Mary Popins... but apparently that has been vetoed kinda...waiting to get some clarification on that point but I have to wait until at least 11 am.
I am sick of a certain someone telling me how they think I should do things. I am not you and I most definitely do not want to handle things like you do.
This.
Ya, I am not saying he should never win, but winning it for work that he accomplished after being in office eleven days? I just don't think this should have been his year.
I once gave a homeless guy some cash and I fully intend on singing Kumbaya on my camping trip in a couple weeks. Would someone please nominate me for the Nobel Peace Prize? I think this qualifies me.
That is all. TGIF, y'all!
Oh dear - do I have to report you all as terrorists now for criticizing the President's Nobel Peace Prize award? That would really make me sad

(CNN) ? A Democratic National Committee spokesman said Friday the GOP has "thrown in its lot with the terrorists" in criticizing the president's Nobel Peace Prize award.
?The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists ? the Taliban and Hamas this morning ? in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse said in a statement.
"Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize ? an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride ? unless of course you are the Republican Party," the statement also said. "The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore ? it's an embarrassing label to claim.?

Ummmm... I am not embarrassed.
Look - I can totally see Obama winning the prize down the road. I am sure there will be many wonderful peaceful things he will do. But when did they start handing those awards out based on potential?! Morgan Tsvangirai got screeeewed.
I think the people who are ashamed to call themselves republican are not ashamed of their own believes or what being a republican stands for, it is because the representatives of the republican party have started to stray from their values and that is a disappointment to those that voted them in.
That's what I hear from my husband anyway
I know, it's like the whole thing is cheapened - for Obama, the Nobel Peace Prize award, and the Nobel Foundation.

People who lost the NPP to Obama:
Who would you have voted for??
--------------
Sima Samar, women's rights activist in Afghanistan: "With dogged persistence and at great personal risk, she kept her schools and clinics open in Afghanistan even during the most repressive days of the Taliban regime, whose laws prohibited the education of girls past the age of eight. When the Taliban fell, Samar returned to Kabul and accepted the post of Minister for Women's Affairs."
Ingrid Betancourt: French-Colombian ex-hostage held for six years.
Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition: "These organizations are recognized for their consistently serious efforts to clean up cluster bombs, also known as land mines. Innocent civilians are regularly killed worldwide because the unseen bombs explode when stepped upon."
"Hu Jia, a human rights activist and an outspoken critic of the Chinese government, who was sentenced last year to a three-and-a-half-year prison term for 'inciting subversion of state power.'"
"Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. He now lives in the United States."
"Dr. Denis Mukwege: Doctor, founder and head of Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has dedicated his life to helping Congolese women and girls who are victims of gang rape and brutal sexual violence."

I think I would have voted for either Sima Samar or Dr. Mukwege...because of their work for women and children.
