i usually bring my lunch to work. this morning i didn't have time because we had to take the dogs to the spca..we woke up late and we were rushing... so today i have to buy my lunch.... my ofc mgr keeps asking me where i'm going....i told her i dont know..i do know, but I realllly dnt want to end up getting lunch for the whole darn office. I HATE that.. I just want to run in, and run out and eat my lunch. i dont feel like standing there and ordering for 5 people.. am i mean? oh well.

Re: does this make me mean?

  • You are NOT mean! I think it's a bit rude that your office mgr would stick you with ordering and hauling back everyone's lunch just because you're going out.

Occasionally, someone in my office will ask if anyone wants anything if they are going out to get lunch - not the other way around. Just play it cool, and say you probably won't decide until you've left the office. Also - you could eat late - say 1:30 - if you can so no one would want to wait for you.

  • No, it doesn't.  I do this sometimes.  If I know not everyone in my office (all 4 of us) is doing lunch, then I will just say I'm going, but I don't know where.  With the girls I work with, we kind of have an agreement on lunch.  Now if someone else in the building asked me to get lunch (with the exception of 1 or 2) i would definetly say I wasn't sure where I was going.  And I have done that.  You are not their lunch ***!
