I feel like I've been out of work for weeks, but I was dreading coming back. Today will be hectic, as usual, but I'm hoping the week goes by quickly since I'm only in for 3 days.
How was everyone's weekend?
Go Phils! Way to go! I wasn't sure they were going to pull it off last night. I was almost positive it was going to Game 5.
Re: Good morning
I have a five day work week. BOOOO
I woke up this morning and my left eye was all swollen. I felt like some swamp creature and looked even worse then one. The swelling went down some in the hot shower so at least that was a good thing.
Tonight I'm going to finish using the rest of the apples for more applesauce and then I'm going to buy some pie pumpkins for well pie.
Last weekend I made 12 pints of apple butter (super yummy), 6 pints of applesauce, finished 50 invitations, addressed all the envelopes, went to a baby shower, had people over for the football game, and started an afghan.
I had a great weekend.. I'm exhausted today though.
Saturday my H and I went out to dinner at Salento in Philly (Italian, BYOB) to celebrate our 1-year. It was fantastic! Afterwards we stopped by my H's uncle's restaurant for a glass of wine.
The next day we went to a farmer's market and got mums, pumpkins, and tulip bulbs. I ripped out all the annuals we had planted
to make way for the fall stuff. It looks great, but those bulbs were a lot of work. That night we made dinner, had champagne, and ate year-old cake (surprisingly good!).
YAY PHILLIES!
Good morning.
My weekend turned out to be pretty fantastic. I'm having a few complications with this pregnancy, so I've been out of work and stuck in the house. This weekend really cheered me up though.
My family had a baby shower for me and it was great! I was completely overwhelmed by the generosity of my friends and family. Then on Sunday DH's parents, two friends, and then other two friends came to visit (but all in shifts). It was so nice to have a little company and still be able to relax. Last night my parents came over with dinner. It was more than enough to calm a case of loneliness.
Sounds like everyone had great weekends!
H and I went to Tinto in Philly on Saturday and I highly recommend it. The chickent brochette and rack of lamb were out of this world and I'm obsessed with the arugala salad with fried goat cheese. Nom, nom, nom.
Plus, it's across from Capo Giro!
Thursday is H's birthday -- anyone got a good steak marinade they want to lend me?
We were close - we were at 22nd and Walnut. I've always wanted to try Tinto!
Morning! I'm back to work this week - sucks, but I guess it's going OK. I really miss my little guy
Kapow - The Tastefully Simple Merlot sauce is really good on steaks, if you know someone that has that. I have some coming Friday with my order. Cant wait to use it. Other than that, I usually just use some salt and pepper then sprinkle blue cheese or gorganzola on top.
H and I went to Tinto for RW and it was pretty bad. The only redeeming quality was the fried goat cheese and the sangria. Otherwise, I wasn't impressed and wouldn't go back. Sounds like it was just RW though.
I also had a great weekend!!! We had a wine festival at our house on Saturday and we had SO much fun....we had the fire pit going and had tons of wine and food. It was so nice hanging out with everyone even though it was FREEZING!! We also decided to do a joint bachelor/bachelorette party which everyone is so excited about...we are gonna do seperate things earlier and then all get a bus into the city...we've been saying we always wanted to get EVERYONE together so here is our chance.
Sunday we were too tired from Saturday that we didn't do much, I ran around and got some stuff done for my sisters baby shower and yesterday FI worked so just cleaned up the yard and then hung in and watched the Phillies game, that game was so intense!!!
Now I'm in baby shower mode...I'm trying to focus on one event at a time and that's the next on my list
I hate when that happens! We tried a bunch of stuff -- I wouldn't get the sea bass again and the kobe beef was overpowered by the add-ons, but some of the other stuff was outstanding.
Thanks for the merlot rec, Toni! I think I used all mine. I'll have to check.
wow, that is a bummer. my husband and i went to Tinto years ago and we loved it! i wonder if things have changed there. (and what is RW?)
Restaurant Week. I find most places i go during that week are dissapointing. I've decided I'd rather pay the extra money and enjoy my meal.
so glad i have the night off from phillies so we can go to dance class and not rush home for the game.
