the most TMI toilet paper poll EVER
So Ben and I were at the grocery store today, and they had a great sale on a bulk pack of toilet paper, which we bought. We were chatting about TP usage (weird I know, but moving on), and I mentioned the whole "magic carpet" trick.
You know, like when you're at someone's house and you desperately have to do a #2 (I usually try to wait until we're home, but sometimes you JUST CAN'T), so in order to prevent both unnecessary splashing and potential skid marks in the bowl, you drop some paper into the toilet before you go, thus creating a "magic carpet" for your business to slip away on.
Ben looked at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears. Surely I can't be the only person to ever think of or do this, right?

OMG! I'm not sure which option to choose! I can't believe other people do this, nor did I know there was a name for it! MH would KILL me, but he does this and I had never heard of it before I discovered he was doing this (don't ask me how I know this). Although I'm now aware of this strategy, I have to say I still don't do it myself. I can't say why, really. It sounds good in theory, though.

And it's happened more than once. The weird thing, though, is he does that at OUR house! I do toilets so perhaps he's being sweet and considerate?

this totally reminds me of the first trip dh and i took together, we had only been dating for a few months, went to vegas, got to the hotel, went to the bathroom, (i'm a total tp whore), toilet clogged and OVERFLOWED. OMG, so embarrassing
he still teases me about it...lol. although a little tp for this purpose (magic carpet ride) goes a long way, you don't have to use too much for it to be effective 
okay, i'm totally giggling out loud that we are talking about skids...LMAO!
I have never heard of this! TMI alert - I might be strange but I can't say I have ever left evidence (at home or away)?
I will say I wish one of MH's friends knew about this "trick" though. We have the new VERY low flow toilets in our house and after a recent poker night someone left some yucky evidence
- even MH was a little grossed out and being a guy he racked his brain to figure out who was gone upstairs long enough to do it, I didn't care - I just wanted it cleaned up right away.
OMG yes - I LOVE his books and that story was hysterical!
I've never had a problem with the toilet clogging - you really don't need to use a lot extra, just a couple of squares. You're not papering the bowl, just laying down a couple of sheets at the bottom to whisk away the evidence.
ditto this. never heard of it and I try to avoid doing #2 elsewhere too...but this is a great idea
