Hawaii Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Why do people direct you to their blog? I've noticed it on other boards: Entertaining Ideas, Decorating, and Cooking. The person will write a post saying they have some great something or other, go see my blog. I understand if someone asks a question and they are sharing, but these are the original posters. If you want to post something, why not just put the info in the post? Do they get points for blog hits? Feel famous? I just don't get it.

Attention Whoring. The least they could do is C+P their blog entry into their post with a link back to the blog,
TTC/PG Blog | Mommy Blog
I've done this two times that I can remember...the first time was when we got our new puppy and I wanted people to vote on his name (and have all the votes in one place lol), and the second time was when I miscarried and just didn't want to have to repeatedly write out the whole story several times.
But for people who do it regularly (not anyone on this board, but I have seen it on other boards), I think it might just be to increase traffic?

My Food Blog - Good Eats 'n Sweet Treats
To reward you for your honesty, I went on your blog and clicked on some ads. Wow, they do a great job identifying what people want and marketing right to it. Next to your delicious stick-of-butter cinnamon rolls, they have an ad for Pilsbury cinnamon rolls. I love it! For people who go to a food blog to learn how to make something... and then, feel lazy... click, click = easy solution.
I like when people share their blogs. It's interesting. My frustration is when they don't bother to post more than a sentence about it.
"I have a feast planned. See my blog"... couldn't they say if it's for Thanksgiving or a three year old's birthday party. I hate to go look and be disappointed (which I frequently am).
Ziz - what is your blog name?

www.passionandparadise.blogspot.com Sorry no clicky I'm on a mac
haha - thanks!!
just don't go overboard b/c there is such a thing called "click fraud" and if they figure out that your friends are constantly clicking on your ads they will remove you from the program
a click here and there every once in a while is fine but too often and they figure you out!!!
but it is nice b/c the ad money helps fund all the baking supplies (butter, eggs, flour, chocolate, etc) that I have to buy all the time to maintain the blog
I don't really end up making money once you factor that in...
