What do you do? Do you share any hobbies with your DH? Did you start anything with him that you didnt do before?
I was reading an article the other day that said one of the keys to a happy marriage is finding a shared passion for something, so I was just curious. And this post has a question/discussion topic...
Re: Hobbies...
Personal Hobbies: I've been taking sewing and glass art classes. I've also been making jewelery with friends. If shopping counts as a hobby I've become a pro!
Together: We golf, water sports, and checking out what's going on around the area.
To answer my own questions...
My hobbies are cooking, gardening, sports, and golfing. DH doesnt have a clue how to cook (and doesnt want to learn), thinks of gardening as work but does take some pride in the lawn at least, loves sports, and would golf everyday given the chance. I used to golf a lot and then barely played for about 10 years so its nice to start getting back into the habit, its just an expensive hobby to have all the time. We have season tickets to Louisville football games and he has tickets to basketball (I'm not really a fan and tickets are a lot harder to come by). He also plays video games (which I can't stand).

My main hobbies are:
~Writing, reading, painting, decorating, shopping. All things my H wants no part of.
His main hobbies:
~Hunting, fishing, doing stuff in the yard and garage. All things I want no part of.
Together, we enjoy:
~cooking (I am lucky, my H is an awesome cook and likes to do it), playing basketball (kind of random, but we both played throughout school), shooting at things in the woods (not living things, more like targets. I love to shoot! pistols, rifles etc and no, we don't take the kids to do that), the beach, boating, skiing and traveling in general. And the babies' activities of course!!
We would like to be able to get to the point where we can take dance classes together, but that is still a few years off.?
My hobbies: Photography (shocker!), cooking/baking (wish I could do it more than I do), hiking and being outdoors (again don't do it as often as I'd like), anything animal related
His hobbies: Bowling (used to be a shared hobby till my back got the best of me) and coaching wrestling (although with his current job he can't do it really anymore)
Joint hobbies: Watching sports, gambling in a BIG way (Blackjack more than anything - we'll spend hours together at a Blackjack table), drinking beer, he likes hiking too - but never done it together yet, traveling...I'm sure there are more, but can't think of them right now.
Honestly, we spend a ridiculous amount of time together doing anything and everything. Other than his bowling nights on Thursday, we're normally together 24/7.
My hobbies: Cooking, trying to garden, and scrabooking.
His: Watching sports, playing basketball and playing video games.
Ours: Playing b-ball, going to new places in town, traveling and cooking
My hobbies: Dancing, board games, hosting parties, some Jewish stuff, reading, recently -tv, dissertation writing
His hobbies: Wrestling, exercise, he's an EMT, really anything athletic, scuba diving, hiking, there are some other ones that I'm not remembering right now
Together: Biking, dancing, scuba diving, traveling, getting involved in our new Jewish community, and we entertain a lot. Our main hobby these days: Organizing our apartment.
We were living far from each other for a long time so we're really working on making sure we are building a life and hobbies together.

Zee, I am dying laughing at "some Jewish stuff!" You are hilarious I swear. By any chance, was the holiday you just celebrated Purim? (you mentioned partying and having fun)?I went to a Purim party once at the Kabbalah Center in Boca Raton, it was pretty interesting.?
Ha - that time wasn't meant to be funny. It's just too much to explain!
No, this holiday was simchat torah. Purim is around Feb/March. It's another partying holiday. We're big on partying.

I remembered that Purim wasn't this time of year after I posted this, sorry!
My hobbies - photography, scrapbooking, making cards ( Stampin Up ), cooking/baking, music, some sports (love baseball and some football)
DH's Hobbies - anything involving cars or working on things around the house
Our Hobbies together - CARS, anything cars - shows, racing, etc. It was something we were both into before we started dating, and then really developed as a shared hobby together. We are into Mopars (Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Jeep) and he's a tech at one of the dealerships, and I work there part time 2 nights a week cleaning cars. We have 7 cars together (3 each and 1 shared) and we do a lot of car shows/events in the summer months, and tinker on our stuff in the winter months. Part of our honeymoon was to a car event, and to Chrysler headquarters in Detroit & the Chrysler museum, and tour some of the Ford factories, museums, etc. Some people thought it was crazy to do that as our honeymoon rather than somewhere romantic/exotic, etc. but its something we love together, and something we always wanted to do (plus saved us money!) Im so glad we share this hobby together. I love working on stuff together and going to events not just as the tag along wife, but because I love the stuff too. Our pastor even included it in part of the wedding ceremony which was cool because people knew that was us. I definitely agree sharing a common interest like that helps the relationship, and I know our pastor said that in our pre-marital counseling too... which I can say it definitely does... We also will do household projects together, and he'll help me with cooking and baking sometimes too.
Hobbies? Um, if I recall from my life before getting an MBA at a Top 5 school took over my world, I think we would have:
Me: Reading, Writing, Working out, Watching *** on TIVO,
Him: Reading? I honestly cannot think of any other hobbies of his
US: Traveling, drinking, collecting things (Hard Rock Cafe shotglasses, Starbucks city mugs, postcards, bangles), cooking, playing softball, decorating our home
Now all I do is nest (at work) and watch crap tv when I am going crazy from studying.
