Book Club Book ??

I looked at the poll to see which book won, but I see there are two that tied. Which book was chosen for October?

Re: Book Club Book ??

  • Hi Emily - Since we have a tie, why don't we do one book this month and then the other book next month?  Does anyone have any objections?  Any preferences for which book?

Also, are there any volunteers to send the evite out?

  • Maggie -

I can do the evite if no one else can. Might need a few suggestions for restaurants though.

  • Doesn't matter to me which book we start with.
  • Okay, Let's do the Dragon Tattoo first and Patato Society second.

Katie, I'll write an e-mail to Lauren so she can send you the updated list.  I think that maybe we should have this the first week in November to give us more time to read the book.  As for suggestions for restaurants, Emily do you have any suggestions near you?  We haven't done anything out in Anderson/Mt. Washington.

If not, I suggest the Bronte Cafe at Joseph Beth Booksellers.

  • I think the place at Joseph Beth would work, I've never been and always wondered about it. Would it's hours work for us?

In Anderson I really like Foreign Exchange (Thai/Sushi) that has the same owner as Teak in Mt. Adams, but not sure how others would feel about it. I'm not sure how the location would be for people, or if we want to do something ethnic again. I'm really okay with driving anywhere around town. I'd have to think about places that would be good, that aren't chains.

There is a place farther out in Milford, a new Italian place in downtown old Milford (not sure of the name but could find it out). It's the same owner as 21 brix, but it's more affordable. There is also a new cupcake place in downtown old Milford that is supposed to be cool, but we wouldn't want the whole book club there. My Mom told me that they have book clubs there (but I've never been in to see).
