mexican restaurant recs?

hi everyone ~ its my anniversary coming up next tuesday, and my husband and I will be celebrating it next weekend. I've been craving some good Mexican food and wanted to see if any of you could recommend anywhere(besides Tequila's and Tortilla Press) not that they aren't good, we were just looking for somewhere different that we haven't been before or haven't been in a while. Thanks!

Re: mexican restaurant recs?

  • los amigos in berlin...yummm

  • There's a really good hole-in-the-wall place in Hammonton.  I think it's called Fiesta Mexicana.  It's BYOB, delicious and pretty inexpensive.

It looks like the right place on google maps...

    Ditto Los Amigos!

  • In the city, El Vez and Lolita are great.  El Vez has the best guacamole and Lolita is bring your own tequila and their margarita mixers are great.

  • The Tortilla Press in Collingswood.
  • La Esparnza in Lindenwold.  Makes my mouth water just thinking of it.
  • I would do a search for Center City.  If you feel like going there, I'm sure there's good places.
  • If you are looking for good, authentic mexican, there's a new hole in the wall spot in Haddon Twp/Westmont. It's called  La Guadalapana. Seriously, it's amazing!! It's small and in a former deli right on Haddon Ave. We've only lived in the area 2 1/2 months and have been there 5 times already!

  • Lolita is really good. Also, I went to a place on South Street recently that was really good - Las Bugambilias.
  • I live in Hammonton and I eat from Fiesta Mexicana at least 1x a week...it's REAL mexican.  They actually just opened a new place up in town...forget the name but there was a huge write up on them in the AC express..it's on 12th st. It's more gormet mexican.

Hope that helps!  I dont know why half is in bold?  haha

I second La Esperanza.  Amazing food, and this is coming from a girl who went to high school in Houston and knows good Mexican food when she eats it.
