In addition to yesterday's crummy morning we found out that the kitchen place never ordered our counter tops, and my brain was totally somewhere else last night because I forgot to make a lunch and switch around our cars so mine was in front (I leave first). Not a big deal, I can buy lunch and DH just had to go out this morning to back his car up, but how did I not even think about (I always make my lunch).
Anywho, this morning I saw one of the local kittens on my walk to the T and stopped to pet her and I saw a (little) rainbow. Looks like today is looking up.

Re: Better Morning
Actually no, they aren't. They won't be in until Tuesday, the day we were supposed to have our inpsection. So now the carpet isn't going in until Wednesday instead of Monday. Inspection will now be Friday (the day we thought we would close) and closing will be the 29th hopefully.
Sorry, I think I'm still cranky about it. This wasn't the only vendor who f-ed something up and pushed things back.
I understand. It is just hard when the original date was October 1st, then they said beginning-middle of October, then middle, then it was decided on the 23rd, but now it will probably be the 29th. It's been driving me nuts not knowing exactly when we will be in the house because I can't plan.
The counter tops weren't the only thing that was late/not ordered. Our windows were 4 days late, our garage door was 3 (business) days late, the rep at the window/door vendor ordered the wrong size front door and he didn't ordered the dormer window when he did the others causing that to be late too. When there is something wrong or delayed practically each week it just starts wearing you down.
And of course I just want out of our apartment, which doesn't even have a radiator in our bedroom. I'm tired of listening to the stupid lady upstairs walk around in her high heels on her hardwood/tile/whatever she has that isn't carpet. I'm just ready for it to be done. It is so close, yet it feels like we'll never get there, ya know.
I know this is going to come off as snarky online, because you can't hear my calm soothing tone and see my sympathetic expression. I promise you I am not trying to be mean. But really, one month is nothing. I work in this business, and have grown up in it since my dad has been in this business since before I was born. When you originally announced how fast they were supposed to build and get you in, DH and I looked at each other and said 'yeah right!' You are very very lucky that it hasn't been delayed even longer. Chin up darlin, I know it's hard now but once you are in you'll forget all about it!
When they listed October 1st as the close date on the P&S I didn't believe them either.
Even last week when they were still saying middle of October and then said they would be done the 16th or 17th I was still skeptical. We've been going by every day this week to see the progress and all week I've been saying I don't think they are going to get everything done.
