Garth Brooks + Vegas = Awesome
(Okay, the press conference isn't until this afternoon, but...)
It is 99.9% sure that Garth Brooks will be coming out of retirement to perform for 16 weeks at the Danny Gans Theatre at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
I would say of all the "dream" concerts I'd want to attend, Garth is totally on that list. Now, is he on the list high enough to justify the prices they'll get for him in Vegas? (Celine Dion, Cher, and Elton John each fetch $250+ PER TICKET)...that's to be determined. But it's tempting. Very, very, very tempting...
What do you think, Country Fans? Would you pay $250+/seat to see Garth live in Vegas?
Re: Garth Brooks + Vegas = Awesome
I was guessing off of the Ceasar's Prices for Cher & Bette Midler which range from $50 (obstructed view/nosebleed) to $250 (orchestra/not front row). The front rows at those shows are "Platinum Package" tickets, which can be up to $995/each.
Wynn tends to be more expensive than Ceasar's. But I'm thinking you can probably get good seats for $150.
Garth Brooks would be really cool to go see in person.
I remember when I was a kid, about 10 yo, I went to Great America with our girl scouts troops. Well my parents went too and my mom and I were obsessed with Garth Brooks, so there was a music "studio" where you could sing any song you wanted and they would record you. So of course, I HAD to do it. I sound horrible and you can tell I think I am the best singer ever, lol.

He has always been at the top of my list of concerts to see. H and I love Vegas too. Now it's the best of both worlds. I'd probably pay $200/ticket for a decent seat.
I was super excited to hear this news on the radio today! Now I think I may have a new plan for my 30th bday next June!!
Residency tickets tend to cost more than one-night shows. Then again, when Jimmy Buffett plays at MGM or Mandalay Bay for just one show, he charges over $250 for orchestra, and Kenny Chesney was $150 or $175.... **shrug** I'm used to Vegas tickets being outrageous unless (1) it's not a band with a HUGE concert following, or (2) it's a cabaret/smaller theatre show.
I'm pretty excited for it and it makes me want to get down to Vegas to make it happen. I haven't been since I was legal, so it's about that time.
No clue on the tickets, but I'm sure it'd be worth it - you know he puts on a great show.
I'm not even a huge country fan but I would definitely go a Garth concert.
We totally want to go to Vegas for our anniversary next year. My H has never been, but it's my favorite city, so it would be cool if Garth happened to be there at the same time!?
I'd pay $250 to see him burned in effigy. Okay, maybe not. He's not even worth that.
Sorry to say but I LOVE country music, but I can't stand him, as a musician, performer, or man. He's one person I wish wouldn't pull a Favre.
