One of our cats is long haired as well. The fur on her body is a good 2" long and the hair along her back and tail is easily 3-4". She looks huge even though she really isn't that but actually does weigh 13.6lb (she's a Maine Coone). Our other cat is short haired and part siamese, which doesn't help because he looks super skinny.
Any luck catching your dad's dog. I've kept my eye out while I've been walking, but I park kinda far from where she was lost.

My uncle updated us that the dog has been spotted several times and they've set up a trap so hopefully she'll be caught soon. She's stayed in the vicinity that she was lost in so that's good news.
