Melissa, I tried to be as sneaky as you but just couldn't do it.  Stick out tongue  I'm beyond thrilled for you and your hubby!  I can totally see you as one of those pregnant women who are just all bump and look effortlessly gorgeous throughout their whole pregnancy and bounce right back into pre-baby shape the week after the baby is born.

So what do you think?  Ericka will be the next one to get knocked up?  Stick out tongue

  • Yay, Ericka NEXT!  There really is a baby explosion going on over here.  It's so exciting!!!

Well, can't say I've been FEELING effortlessly gorgeous... especially in this heat and humidity!  But if zits are the worst thing I can complain about, then I am very grateful.

How have you been feeling?  I was lucky to avoid the morning sickness and weird food cravings... I just sleep and sleep and sleep!

And I'll be looking forward to the arrival of your undoubtedly gorgeous LO.  You know what they say about hapa babies, right?!  Wink  Gotta love 'em!

  • Omg, last week was sooo bad!  We have a small fan in our room and use that at night but last week we had to use the a/c almost every single night.  John would wake up in the middle of the night to turn it off and then wake up again all hot and have to turn it back on again, lol!  During the summer months, I remember thinking that we had to time the pregnancy so that I wouldn't be 8 1/2 months pregnant in the middle of August because if that happened, there'd be no way I would survive that.  It seems like it's been a much hotter summer this year compared to the last year!

You're lucky you haven't had morning sickness!  How about food or smell aversions?  The smell of garlic makes me sick now, which is sad because I love love love garlic.  John cooked a steak the other night and that made me sick too.  We were talking about going to Millions with some friends since we haven't gone in a looong time but I'm scared that I might get sick from the smell of the meat.  I think the prenatal vitamins I've been taking have been making me feel even worse because I notice that the nausea gets worse at night, which is when I take the vitamin.  I brought it up to the nurse today and she said to take children's chewables so from tonight I'm doing Flintstones instead.  They smell really yummy so I'm actually looking forward to taking my vitamin tonight!

Hopefully we'll get to enjoy cooler weather soon.  Smile

Haha...crossing fingers that I'll be next but i guess DH & I gotta start trying to make it happen lol.

  • Seriously, this heat is ridiculous.  We live in a valley, so I have refused a/c for the longest time... but I recently broke down and told DH that we CAN get it for our room after all.  I sleep in mini shorts and a sports bra and I still toss off the sheet!

I had just one day of m/s, and it was MISERABLE.  I threw up 4 times in a bag in my car.  And the funniest thing was that it happened at about 14 weeks, just when I thought I was in the clear.  During the first tri, I was really picky about what I ate -- nothing looked horrible, but nothing looked good either.  Now, I'm back to normal and eating pretty healthfully.  I'm sort of waiting for my appetite to escalate, though, b/c sometimes I worry it's not enough for the baby.... but I'm sure it is since I've gained 5-7 pounds.

I take the Nature Made prenatal with DHA, usually in the morning after I've eaten something.  It's better than what I had before b/c it's in a smooth capsule (tho kinda big), so it goes down without any funky herbally tastes.

Take care and hope the nausea goes away!!!
