So we had the brain ultrasound today
it was SO WEIRD! To look right at his brain... creepy but neat. We don't get the results back for two days, but they seemed pretty relaxed so I don't think they saw anything bad. Which is what we were expecting, the pediatrician feels that the problem is just within his bones but wanted to do this "just in case" since a large head can mean problems in the brain.
But yeah... SO WEIRD. Ethan was fascinated by it too- I thought for sure I'd have to hold him down, but he sat totally still and upright, watching the images on the screen.
Re: So we had the brain ultrasound today
They can only do an ultrasound of the brain in babies- they do it through the soft spot ("luckily", as the radiologist put it, Ethan's soft spot is still very large. The pediatrician thought that the size of his soft spot was a problem, and was part of the reason he felt an ultrasound needed to be done, but the radiologist was thankful to find it because it made his job easier. Go figure).
Anyway, Ethan sat on the bed and they rubbed the wand-thing over his soft spot. It was super easy and non-invasive.
Ultrasounds are so neat, eh? I think it's adorable that Ethan was fascinated by it. What a doll
Sounds like an interesting test to watch (adorable that Ethan was so fascinated too)
Hopefully some answers come too to all of this!
