As a child of the 80s, I was already furious about the "reinventing/reimagining" of Strawberry Short Cake and My Little Ponies AND Care Bears. But when you f*ck with Rainbow Brite, you cross a line.

They looking like BRATZ dolls! This is just unacceptable.

Ditto!! Rainbow Brite was one of my all time favorites. I actually have the material, so my mother can make me an outfit for Halloween to go as her. Sadly, we aren't dressing up this year because we will be moving!

First thing I noticed was how thin they all are now... talk about giving shiitty image complexes to young girls... or 27 year old girls...
Wait WAIT! I just noticed that even the fcuxing HORSES are skinnier!!!!!! I'm scared to see what the pump little star buddies look like now
Well, now you can be Rainbow Brite again this year and it won't be horrible when it gets your hubby's heart racing.
I think this all has to do with something I read about Dora the Explorer "growing up." Girls are too used to the Bratz style imaging and once they're older than about 4, the industry is worried they will lose interest in baby-ish cartoons. Well, I'm pretty sure Bratz are no more due to Barbie unleashing the fury of a thousand h3lls on them, so why don't we try to get back to the point where cartoons that look like cartoons were still appealing to us at the age of 6!
