  Have you looked at Home Emporium on Ridge?  I haven't been there in over a year but they have/had some of the more basic & popular granite colors.  Most of them are about $20 a square foot (all in stock) & they have a list of contractors who install for about another $20 a square foot.  I have a friend in Dayton who used them before they sold their old house and again for their new house and they were very happy.  I've seen displays at the front of Home Depot with low prices, not sure how long it takes to order.

  We used Ohio Tile (www.ohiotile.com) and worked with Sharon.  You pick your slab right on site and they can usually come out and do templates/cut/install in about 2 weeks.

  I have never worked with them, but there is a place near my house called 'take it for granite' Obviously they do granite but I don't know their time/quality etc...

  6/28/10: Lost our sweet baby Addyston at 18wk 1day to pPROM 7/24/11: Michael William born at 24wk 2d due to IC after an emergent cerclage at 18wks, 4wk home BR and 2 weeks hospital BR. Grow strong our little Miracle! 9/17/11: Michael joined his sister in heaven after 8 amazing weeks with us on earth. He fought a very hard fight but NEC was too much for him in the end.

  BTW, about how much did it cost you (per sq ft and how much to do the edging?)  If you dont mind me asking.

  My parents & aunt/uncle both recently remodeled their kitchens. They both ended up choosing granite through Sears. Sears is doing more home stuff- tile, cabinets, countertops, etc. I know they got a really good price, which included a undermounted sink.
