Help!...costume party/wedding....2 weeks!!

One of DH's close friends is getting married in 2 weeks, Oct 31.....yes, Halloween.  That also happens to be the guys birthday, but that's irrelevant.  It's not exactly a halloween party, but on the invite it says costumes are encouraged.  The problem....the majority of the evening is going to be outside!  Yes, on Oct 31!  It's right outside of Pittsburgh, by the way.

We really want to go in costume, and DH has been known for his funny, creative, slightly obscure costumes over the the years.  However, we have no idea how to plan a costume when we don't know how warm or maybe freezing the weather may be 2 weeks from now.  And the thing starts at 4:30pm...so it's in the evening.  From what I understand, it's a different sort of agenda than most.  Cocktails at 4:30, the ceremony at "dusk" whenever that happens to fall (and all of that is outside). And then we're moving inside for dinner.

So what could we plan that we would be warm enough outside, and then not roast when we went inside into a most likely heated room?  If you ask me, this is a bit of an inconsiderate party!  TIA

Re: Help!...costume party/wedding....2 weeks!!

  • you could always go as a trophy wife and mr. right. that way, you could still wear your party attire (dress for you, suit for him) and just have sashes that say "trophy wife" and "mr. right". since you just got married this is something cute to do i think.

i was looking at trophy wife/mr right costumes for us, but they are really not outdoor appropriate.
