Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Random etiquette question re: wills

If you were left something in someone's will, would you send a thank you note or call to say thank you to the will executor?

  • Nope. I have honestly never heard of anyone doing that. Plus it's not the executor who left it to you! lol
  • I wouldn't because it is not the executor who gave me something.
  • No, the executor has a job to do (distribute assets as set out in the will) so they are not really the ones to thank. I was left a valuable camera in a will years ago and did not send a note.

  • probably not. Especially given the mood of the scenario - someone died, and the executor was doing what they promised to do.

    Send up a little prayer of thanks to the one who passed instead, for thinking of you :)
