Holiday Baking

I'm bored and curious- Who here likes to bake? What is your favorite thing to bake? Do you like to experiment or stick to tried-and-true recipes?

Last night I made sugar cookies, then I took pumpkin hersheys kisses and put them inside the cookies- so they are sugar cookies that are filled with pumpkin white chocolate- I was happy with my experiment, and its making me think I need to play around in the kitchen a lot this holiday season- maybe everybody will get homemade gifts this year, lol! :)

Re: Holiday Baking

  • I love to bake.  I would so go to pastry school if we could afford it.  I would love to own a bakery someday.  I like making cakes and cupcakes.  I experiment with all sorts of recipes.  Some I reuse others go straight to the trash.
  • I like to bake and decorate, I just don't have the time anymore Sad

But I am going to make sure I make some time to get some baking in for the holidays and than all sorts of goodies for J's bday.

  • I love to bake but rarely ever do so because when you bake it's hard to make a small amount. I normally half the recipes and I am still left over with tons that we don't need sitting around the house. I need to start baking more and giving it away.

My girls night group is getting together in Dec to do a bunch of baking. We are going to give it away as presents to like neighbors and such. One of the girls has a very large kitchen and I will be bringing over my kitchen aid mixer and we will set up hers as well. We are going to make sugar cookies, divinity, shortbread, snicker doodles and chocolate covered pretezls

  • I pretty much stick to my standard 3 treats - All Occasion Cookies (super yummy and super easy - only 3 ingredients!), Chocolate Chip Cookies and English Toffee.  I'm so sick of them by the time I'm done making everything that I wind up giving it all away to the neighbors and Chris' coworkers!
