NYC Insiders... need your help.
We are going to NYC for the first time ever at the end of the week.
I would love to hear your thoughts on any insider tips. We haven't been able to secure any tapings of a live show, but plan on going to TODAY show and CBS Early Show. Letterman is not taping this week with an audience.
Any places I should be on a look out for famous people? We want to try to do it all in four days... Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, WTC site, Rockefeller Center.
Any recommendations?
What broadway show do you recommend?
Thanks in advance.
Re: NYC Insiders... need your help.
Hm...you've got a lot of stuff for 4 days! I'd suggest standing on line to try to be filler audience for shows, but that would eat up a good chunk of your day, especially if you don't get in.
Broadway shows; Avenue Q is awesome. Little Mermaid is pretty darn good. I hear great things about Jersey Boys. Shrek could be fun. There is a TKTS booth in Times Square where they offer somewhat to severely discounted tix to shows *that day*! You may get lucky. It's on 47th and right across the street from the Olive Garden.
I recommend Top of the Rock over Empire Bldg. ESB gets really crowded and it's really hard to get a good view. ToR has 3 different levels you can go to!

Finally! A Married Bio!!
I can't recommend where celebrities hang out, 'cause they don't just gather in one location so one can ogle. lol If only it were that simple. It's pretty much hit or miss in the big city, but good luck...hopefully you'll spot someone!
I second "Avenue Q". I saw it this weekend and absolutely loved it. It's now off-broadway, but just as great as any broadway play I've seen. Hope you enjoy NYC as much as I do!
I am a musical theater actress and can vouch for just about any show on right now.
Jersey Boys is amazing. It was a great show to take my parents to. Avenue Q is great and luckily it's now off bway so it's slightly cheaper for the same exact show. Plus, it started off bway. Shrek tickets can be found at TKTS like PP said, but you;ll have a hard time getting those "talked about" shows through there.....Hair you can and got Best revival this year. Worth seeing. Billy Elliot, although not cheap, has tickets at the box office and you can walk up and buy those bad boys. I suggest Lion King if you haven't seen it. AMAZING show! Not cheap either, but since it's been out for over 10 years, you might be able to find the $60 tickets at the box office.
